Title: Opinions on the DG pipes for the RZ350?
Post by: old-too-smoker on September 24, 2019, 07:01:37 AM
Opinions on the DG pipes for the RZ350? I have a set in the shop, stock pipes currently on it. Are they a good pipe? I think the air cooled ones for the RD350 are not very good.

poor DG pipes, get such a bad name
had a pair on my '84 rz and they tuned perfectly with stock carbs and airbox
maybe less quality materials?
they function great

'rz' dgs are pretty good. for aircooled just clunky and not a great power pipe, but not terrible either.

DG/RZ pipes are just a copy of the Toomey pipes. They make their most power after 9500 RPM where the stock pipes sign off. Are very light due to thin material used. Watch for seams splitting and the silencers are always loose at the rivet points. They were cheap so they sold a lot of them.

Compared to the stockers they should still be a vast improvement.
