Title: Tachometer mount
Post by: gwcrim on October 19, 2019, 12:18:17 PM
Who needs a speedometer?  Not me!

I wanted to mount just the tach.  Simple.  Took a piece of 3/4 inch aluminum, cut to size, drilled a few holes and it's done.  At first, the cup was mounted directly to the aluminum.  Lots of vibration.  So I cut some closed cell foam to use as a cushion.  Nylock nuts hold it snug but not tight.  As soon as the outside temp warms up, I'll test it.

The closed cell foam works great.  Tach doesn't vibrate at all.

I used a sheet of carbon fiber. Cut it with a cutoff wheel and then burned up a bunch of drill bits for the bolt holes. That stuff is no joke to drill.

Will be doing this with my tracker build. Just need to get a cheap small 125 or 200 DB.
