Title: Master cylinder, throttle, and other various items questions
Post by: oxford on October 30, 2019, 06:41:47 PM
I am getting to the final assembly and details on getting this bike together but still need to get a few things.  I figured I will try and keep it all in one thread instead of starting a bunch.

Brake master cylinder.  Has anyone run dual disc with 2 factory calipers?  What size master cylinder did you go with and how did you like it?  The vintage brake website is saying it should be around an 18mm but looking for some real life experience before I get one since I think some other factor come into play

Where is the go to for braided stainless lines and should they run into a splitter or both lines up to the master?

Recommendations for a throttle assembly and cable?  This is a bare bones bike and I don't need the switch housing like the factory has just a basic throttle tube and cable.  Cable is going to PWK carbs and I am running premix so no oil pump.

Is the stock clutch perch good enough or is it time to upgrade to something different.  Again I have no need for a mirror mount but don't really care if it is there.

Is there a source for a rear brake switch spring or which switch comes with the proper length?  I ordered a switch from somewhere but the spring was too short.

Are the weighted bar ends needed or worth it?

That's is for now but there will probably be more.  Thanks

on an rd?

18 is probably ok, but id imagine 16 would be fine. I know, seems odd but its too big for a single one IMHO.

routing is up to you. i like double lines. and a long banjo at the master. or loop it from one caliper to the other if you go banjo connection.

i like the ninja clutch perches with the big single wheel. look for like 06 ish zx6r

side note, if you are using low bars, 1st gen ex 250 clutch cables are -perfect-. however, you need to tap the cable block at the motor to m8 to thread the cable in. upside is it wont fall out.

i like bar weights.
