Title: Dyna DC-3 coils on RD350
Post by: 2t Fan on January 06, 2020, 01:38:40 AM
Happy new year to everyone  ;D

Like to understand if I can fix the coils away from its usual location under the gas tank to somewhere further backwards by extending the HT leads with a splicer ? will it affect the spark strength or anything else ?

Because of the size of the coils I can't fix both coils under the tank

Dont splice the wires, just use new longer ones if necessary
Years ago guys used to use car coils on their bikes and mount them outside the frame under the tank in the front where the reflectors are.

mount em under the tank towards the back if you can get them to fit there, usually plenty of room. solid core wire, 5 ohm resistor caps. will work fine.

Mark,
I believe you meant 5kOhm caps

thanks, will relocate accordingly . The coils are shorter but bulky
