Title: RIP Kenny Rogers
Post by: Evans Ward on March 21, 2020, 12:08:49 PM
A true legend has passed at 81 years old. I even have one of the super rare RZ350 K Rogers editions. See pic/ sig on bikini fairing.

Rogers or Roberts?
Both definitely made a lasting impression, but in different ways.

Kenny Rogers raced a sprint car believe. So that's cool in its own right.

If you zoom in on my fairing decal, it's been modded to Rogers for laughs and giggles.

my dad was a country music guy, so '70's - early '80's country music was ingrained in my music tastes as a kid.   Kenny was a big part of that. Cheezy, and fantastic.
Funny note. My wife's first concert was Kenny Rogers with her parents when she was about 10 years old.

You guys remember that fella in Sacramento that had the huge lot of RD/RZ parts for sale? He sold someone a swing arm and it turned into a shit show. Anyway, that very same gentleman tried to sell CDFFiredad and myself "Kenny Rogers's OWN RZ350 racebike" hahaha. Funny stuff.
On another note: a lot of Kenny Rogers songs in my folks house and on the radio when I was growing up.

Today, Sun 03/29 on AXS TV @ 5pm Pacific/8pm Eastern
The Big Interview with Dan Rather: Kenny Rogers (http://www.axs.tv/news-and-docs/the-big-interview/tbi-kenny-rogers/)

I saw it a few days ago and it was very interesting. Never knew he was such an acclaimed photographer. Very humble guy too.
The whole Dan Rather series is really good. He primarily interviews musicians/songwriters.
