Title: RD400 rear sprocket bolts - are they available?
Post by: Hawaii-Mike on March 02, 2019, 11:41:32 PM
I'm talking about the bolts that insert in the drive bushings on the rear hub.  On the parts fiche, it's #27, part number 90109-12429-00.

There's a rear wheel on e-bay that's missing those bolts.

Only place I know of, unless you find some used or NOS.

I happened to find a used set on ebay today.

Researching, I saw this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dzf1SJgcvBg

Then I had the idea - why not tap the cush drives then screw in bolts?  They wouldn't be the stock size and the holes in the sprocket may need enlarging.

I just made some out of aluminum for mine. (the bushings, as i was killing them quickly).  i was considering using m12 bolts though them, but inserted the stock studs back in the aluminum bushings instead.
