Title: Drilling a hole in the frame?
Post by: oxford on August 01, 2020, 10:03:46 PM
Does anyone see a problem with drilling a hole in the frame around this area(might be in front of the cross tube)?  It will most likely be on the bottom and around 1/4" diameter.  I would like to run some wires from the tail light area through the frame tube and pop out around there.

With the load coming from the vertical tube right in that area I would not recommend it.

me either. behind the vertical tube on the same run up from the swingarm would be much better structurally. unless you form and tig weld in a washer type support around the hole you plan on drilling to keep the tube from being weakened there. or weld in a gusset plate. lot of work to hide a few wires though :twocents:
