Title: DG Head Work Needed
Post by: Scooterror on March 12, 2019, 06:59:36 PM
I have a set of DG heads for my 1975 RD350. The cylinders run weisco pistons and run on pump gas. I would like the compression raised but still within safe tolerance for 93 octane, machining for proper squish, eliminate head gasket with o-rings and center on bore. Anyone have suggestions on who to talk to? I have emailed three shops and have heard nothing back
Thanks

Scott Clough Racing (SCR) will do exactly what you want. 760-365–4505, or supertune Chuck can also do it, Chuck is on here as "supertune"

Just noticed Scott Clough's website is down.

Anyone know if he is still working?

Ron Black is just about retired as well.  Lots of the good old dudes are aging out.

Some Youngblood ought to step up and get on it.  Still lotsa work out there.

Just spoke to Scott Clough. He is super busy at this time.  Very backed up. Real nice guy and shared a lot of info on re cutting the dg's. If i dont get the heads reworked my other option is to sell the dg's and get heads already done such as the hvc's. Anyone know how much an unmodified set of DG rd 350 heads are worth?

Depends on condition of course, I paid 300.00 for mine and they were virtually unused, but I've seen them on eBay for 500.00 or even more. If scott can't do yours for you you should contact Supertune before you decide to get rid of them.

Sorry... I was out of town for a week at the AHRMA vintage races this weekend at NOLA Motorsports Park.
I had about 20 emails I'm going through. I believe yours was one of them.

Unmodified original DG heads will go for $500-$600 in good condition.

Joe got a good deal on his.

I can modify them and dowel pin the cylinders and heads for perfect alignment. As Jim noted Ron Black is basically done. He has helped me develop my design as well as chuck supertune. Both cylinders and heads are machined on a cnc horizontal so both heads are perfectly identical.
