Are the RD250/RD350 and RD400C-F splines identical on the shift shaft? Thx

Hi,
according to the part books all RD's up the C/D model have the same shift shaft with the part number starting with 278. The european E/F models have a different one, part number starting with 2R8.

FWIW, several other Yamaha models share the same shift shaft splines. My RD350, XS650 and XT250 have the same. Same for XT500 and 350LC. And most likely a lot of other models, Even Hondas  Some Suzukis have a coarser spline though;

^ yup.
honda def shares the same spline on some models. and kawasaki. suzuki is the odd ball.
