Title: Mini lathe
Post by: rodneya on November 12, 2020, 12:58:16 PM
I bought a mini lathe recently, and this little thing is super useful.
I already used it to make front and back pieces for the silencers I made, and Ive just turned some spacers for my front engine mount.
next job is to make an adapter to fit an R3 disk onto my spoked rear disk hub.
Well worth the $400 I payed for it.

I've had one for about 25 years. Made all sorts of things on it. Just use similar safety precautions as on one of the big ones.

Making swarf is super fun, isn't it?

Yes it is, but finishing a part without loosing a finger is is also pretty satisfying

I've been tempted many times over the years to pick up a mini lathe.

Well worth the price.
I found it quite difficult to find somebody willing to make small one off parts. And I really like doing stuff myself.

I can't believe how much I've used mine.
