Title: RD400 Master Cylinders
Post by: on2wheels on December 10, 2020, 01:53:45 PM
I have had a nightmare in the past trying to get RD400 master cylinders rebuilt or restored. What is an optional aftermarket setup that would work. I don't think I want to deal with original on my latest build. Any suggestions would be appriciated.

i just put a 13mm master on from a cbr250 ( i think) on my rd front end with stock caliper.  however, period ones:

the round ones are very nice indeed, but not cosmetically correct for the rd400.

There used to be at least one company/individual in the UK that sleeved worn master cylinders. I am sure that can also be done to reduce the bore of stock master cylinders. In those cases where original appearance and improved function are desirable.

A SR400 MC is a bolt on part. The stock brake light switch and mirror fits right on too.
