Dale Walksler lost his 4 year battle with cancer yesterday. The museum in Maggie Valley, founded by him is a treasure trove of history. Something to add to your bucket list if you have not seen it yet. I've been there twice and will visit again.
RIP Mr. Walksler. I've heard of the museum and would like to check it out someday when I'm out that way
He had a very interesting life

I was saddened to learn of Dale's passing. I was lucky to have met and talked with him a few yrs ago while touring WTT with an old riding buddy of mine. He made us feel right at home.
Ironically, a few yrs later, the same buddy was in line at a fast food place when he struck up a conversation with a motorcyclist in line in front of him. Somehow the topic of WTT came up. When my buddy told the guy in front of him how nice Dale was, a person behind my friend tapped him on his shoulder, explained that he had over heard his compliment and wanted to thank him for the kind words. It was Dale. Small world.
RIP Dale
i think his son - is it matt? will look after the place. he seems to have as much passion and enthusiasm for the bikes as his dad :cheesy:
cheers, gil.
Been there four times and will go back soon. About a 2 hour ride by interstate, or 3 fun hours through the Smokys park. I have several photos of Dale there. Here is one:
