Title: RD 400 fork slider with RD350 fork components
Post by: Dvsrd on April 02, 2021, 07:12:43 AM
I have a RD400 rh side fork slider, that I would like to use on my 350. Will the 350 damper rods, etc. work with the 400 slider? Also, is there enough material around the seal to machine the outside to 350 dimensions?

Reason for wanting to do this swap, is just to have the caliper behind the fork. Ny

Someone else can chime in about the 400 legs but a TX500 is identical to the 350 with the addition of a caliper lug on each leg.

Yes it will work as long as you use the 350 tube with the 350 damper rod.

Can't you just swap the two stock fork legs around so that the caliper moves from in front of one side to behind on the other side?  Or is that too easy?

I could do that. But the speedo drive could be a slight issue then. And I just think it looks better with a RH disc. At least when parked on the side stand.
