Title: 2022 R7
Post by: SoCal250 on May 18, 2021, 01:11:24 PM
Yamaha just announced a new R7

I wonder if the're going to continue to R6? It seems they would almost have to if they wish to stay in the Supersport race classes

Good looking bikes. I wonder how it compares, performance wise, against the new 660 Tuono? One of the guys at the track recently has a new 660 and it's a really cool bike. The R7 will definitely spice up the Middleweight Twins class.

Saw that this morning. They are discontinuing the R6 apparently. Cp2 is a great engine, but I'm sad to see the small 4 cylinders disappearing.

Nah... give a minute.
I think you will see a totally new generation of 600cc bikes coming. The R3 was truly a game changer in the lights.. now the R7.
I believe that the true middle weight class will find new traction.

Way down on HP compared to the R6.  I'm sure racers aren't happy. A great streetbike, I would think.   W/o the front & rear end modifications that the MT / FZ needed sorely.

It turns out the R6 is being discontinued. 2020 was the final model year. However a track only version, the R6 Race will be offered in Europe.
