Has anyone here installed a Koso Mini Tach on their RD? Looking for feedback and experience.
The US RD125 came without a tachometer from Yamaha so I was thinking about installing a Mini-4 Tachometer.

I don't need anything fancy -- just a small, discreet, simple gauge that won't require any permanent mods because the bike is 100% stock.
Wondering if it will work OK and do what I need, or if I should just save my money. I was curious about reliability, accuracy, and possible interference issues. TIA
ive seen those used on bikes locally, usually motard style, and they seems to be really good.

On a stock bike with points ignition, there should not be any interference issues. The tach is just connected to the negative terminal on one of the coils, and of course switched +12VDC from the ignition switch, and ground as well.
Digital vs analog is definitely down to personal preference and intended use, but I would prefer a conventional round clock, or maybe a bar graph. Or just a shift light if you just want to avoid over-revving.

I went ahead and ordered one. Ordered on a Thurs and it was on my doorstep the next day at 1pm! Figured for $70 and a homemade mounting bracket it was worth a try. I'm just hoping that the digital readout configuration is fairly steady and doesn't show constantly bouncing numbers.
My primary goal is to be able to see what RPMs I'm actually turning. When it's in 5th and pushing 60mph it just screams and sounds like it's on the verge of blowing up. Who knows, maybe it's not actually revving super high but just sounds like it. Factory redline is supposed to be 9,500 or 10,000.
Now, if I can just find the time to make the bracket and get it installed I might get the feedback I'm looking for.
