Reality has set in, and I've realized I need a reliable turnkey 4T bike. Short list is 690SMCR, 701SM, 790/890 Duke, etc.
Anyway, the only way this gonna happen is if I sell something.
Thus, my recently (mostly) completed LC is headed for the chopping block.
It's a very sweet bike, but due to the rattlecan paint, maybe not quite BAT worthy.
Anyone used iconicmotorbikes.com auctions? Anyone got an opinion on the best venue to sell such a niche market bike?

I do believe that Iconic auctions uses the same Ebay seller that screwed me outta $250 on a dash to post up the motorcycles. So, FWIW there's my two cents.
Ebay isn't... terrible? But, I'd CL and Facebook Marketplace it first.
Iconic only takes a $75 flat fee which sounds good.
worth a shot for sure.
CL or FB you will have to put a price out there.
Haggle with people, and all the buyers saying they are coming to see it, and not showing up
Ebay or other auction sites will let the current market dictate the price.
You will also know it is sold, once it passes your reserve.
Haul Bikes is doing $600 for transport still, so you could mention you can help with that if buyer sets up.
You could also CL & Ebay, so as to keep buyers in the price range if they offer less than the current ebay price.

I've met the Iconic crew and they are all great guys. I managed to get them to attend this years 2 Stroke Extravaganza as a vendor and they had a blast as they love 2 strokes! They have worldwide exposure and seem to be passionate and an honest group of guys. I plan on taking my Aprilia RS250 to them in the next few weeks to sell for me.
Forgot to mention that I wish you were closer as I'd love to have that bike!

Yeah, the exposure Iconic brings, and the auction letting the demand dictate the price is a big draw.
I know how much I've spent, and how it's a titled JDM model, and how rare it is, how complete it is, and the Erlenbach porting and the stainless pipes, and the PWK's and the O-ring head, etc, etc, etc.
The fact that it's NOT STOCK takes away from the value, but the quality of the build brings it back up. I def built it as a ripper and not a flipper. That will resonate with some, but not with collectors who just want a pretty stock bike to look at.
Really hard to put a pricetag on something like this.
I have followed Iconic for a long time and it does seem that their passion and love of 2ts is a plus when listing this type of bike. They have had success connecting buyers of very niche performance oriented RZVs, RG etc.
I would also note it would be worth putting it up for trade on the specific bikes you are looking for, believe it or not I have had great success in trading bikes for ones that are a better fit. I also wouldn't doubt that they type of rider that is currently on the types of bikes you are looking for would be interested in the RD. (Ill leave out the note that some of that list may not be more reliable :dawg:)
I used a couple forums for a few of my bikes and they all sold within a few days....
...although I was pretty reasonable with my pricing, which I am sure helps move them faster.
I may be oversimplifying this, but I hope you're talking to Acme Moto up there...

Haha, yeah, your pricing on the recent VJ22 project was more than benevolent. I passed on your listing, and my guy couldn't pass it up. Kinda wishing i'd bought the RGV myself.
