I knew a guy who had one of these in the US army in Germany in the 60's.

He said driving it was like rowing a boat you had to shift so often.

It has 4 speeds forward and you stop the engine and restart it running backward to back up.

Kind of like an RD with an old Dyna ignition.

Downhill with a tailwind... This was in Austria in the mountains actually. He said there weren't many other transportation options for a young GI then. He had an old Moto Guzzi there also.

Congnac was 35 cents a bottle. That combination must have been interesting.
