Never seen a Skoal in person, wonder where it is now. https://www.mecum.com/lots/LV0120-392755/1987-suzuki-rg500-skoal-bandit/
I was at the auction and saw that bike. Hammer price was $57,200!
Tacky1 on here has a super sick RG500 hybrid in Skoal replica livery.

the 500 skoal bandits were racing over here in england with paul lewis - the angry ant - on board :Clown:
cheers, gil.
That's true, but they were full on race bikes, not street going replicas.
Whatever happened to Paul Lewis, the Angry Ant?
Not Skoal livery, but Rob Mcelnea and Mick Grant came to Australia with RGB racers to race in the Swann Series in 83(?). We were at Calder for open practice on our slow old classic racers and that pair shot past us like we were standing still, and let's not get onto speeds around corners. And that was when they were just warming up. It was pretty clear that we needed to get out of the way and sit on the sidelines and watch.
An RG500 Gamma street bike would be nice though.
I bet hours after that sold was on a ship back whence it came.
That is seriously crazy money for a bike that was never painted in those colors from the factory. :jaw:
Although many were painted as such back in the day in the UK, as were copies of Lucky Strike and Pepsi RGV's
Looks like the market is still going strong for clean good running, nicely built imports. :celebrate:
I thought that a few left the factory in skoal colors but I just read they were resprays by a UK importer
i remember paul coming to england to race on the 2 stroke skoal bandit. it was his first time at donnington and one of his team told him he ought to wear a back protector, which he did and subsequently fell off. back at the pits somebody asked him how he was and his answer was something like: perfectly ok, now i'm going to buy the full set [of protectors] then i can REALLY go for it. the bloke was a laugh a minute. and btw, he was in pole position after practice :Clown:
cheers, gil.
