My better half and adult children didn't know or see the significance of the classic Yamaha logo. Have any of you found similar results?

That's the logo for "Yamaha Corporation" (musical instruments), not "Yamaha Motor Co." (motorcycles).

Yamaha also partnered with and sold Asahi tennis shoes in the '80s (maybe longer). The Yamaha name and tuning fork logo was on the boxes. Probably because Yamaha was also in the tennis racquet business. But, all the Japanese motorcycle mechanics wore Asahi shoes in the pits. First time I saw a pair, they were on Eddie Lawson's feet.
