Well fuck me sideways..
I will post a picture tomorrow. But, I was planning out a few ideas looking at the bike and noticed something off on the headlight ear. The headlight ear where the metal cover slips over the top seems to have forced the paint down along a section of the sharp edge and caused it to bump out in a wrinkle.
It doesn't appear to have cracked, but it obviously has adhesion issues. Might I be able to hair dryer it and straighten out the bump? At this point if I could do that I'd super glue seal the top and call it good.
If it wrinkles then yeah it never stuck either to the primer or the primer to the metal.
Either way even if it flattened out by applying heat it's not good and will only get worse. Were the headlight ears painted at the same time as the tank and other parts?
Picture is up on the top post.
No the headlight ears were done a few weeks after the tank etc by the same guy. They came pre primed from the factory and he had to sand some off as it was causing other issues. Looks like it still had some issue. The aftermarket chrome cap must have forced the paint down when I tightened the triple tree.
Are you certain it's the paint? The picture almost looks like the metal tube has distorted

:umm:... nope. not certain. I'll take it apart and see.
Only you will ever notice, but of course it will bug you forever.
TAKE RING OFF, CLEARANCE it a bit, heat paint up push flat if you can, then put ring back on. my .02
:agree: that sounds good to me
