So a discussion on Yamaha paint codes was happening.
Now I personally have searched the web voraciously for official documentation of Yamaha paint codes that a paint vendor could pull up and mix. Not once have I found one.
But tonight a fellow posted this link below and it looks like this Euro dealer has actual numeric paint codes. I would love to see the source documentation they made their list from.
Has anyone seen this before? Is this really legit?

yes and no. the classic RD codes aren't on this list.
Also, the classic codes won't pull up any info if taken in. There was a UK company mixing up the secret sauce, but I'll have to do some digging to find it. Most people just pick a color that's close and go with it. Myself, it was taken off my old tank Wade has and mixed to match. It's a bit off, but that's prolly due to the age of the paint. In fact my painter wanted me to sand the old clear off before matching the color as it would reflect the true color best. I chose not to.

Yes I've seen that list, in fact much of it is posted here in the Tech Library. It's nothing special, as it's pretty well known info. The problem with the vintage Yamaha codes is that they don't correlate to any modern paint colors or mix recipes, as Striker pointed out, since they are OEM internal nomenclature.
So, you're going to need to try color matching from a good (preferably unfaded) sample on an existing part.
What color are you trying to match? Just as an FYI, here are the Yamaha codes for the R5:
1970 R5 Metallic Purple 0034, White 0036
1971 R5B Mandarin Orange 0071, White 0036
1972 R5C Mandarin Orange 0071, Yamaha Black 0033
Note: I don't believe the white used in 70 & 71 was a pearl, but if so then the color is Pearl White 0046
I was in need of this post.
The ears on my 75 RD250 need to be redone.
Need that white paint code.

RS Bike Paint sold me a Geneva Green that is an excellent match to the Geneva Green of the original bikes. It is water borne and sprays real nice. 1/2 pint covered side covers and tank with two coats. One coat was possibly enough. I still have half the bottle left over. That bike is a beauty. If I were you I would just have a painter color match using the headlight shell since it's the closest part to the ears or the tank. As nice as your original 250 is I would be certain it's probably just a bit off in color tint since it was new.

The '75 RD250B is Clean White 0046. I don't have any info for a modern equivalent or mix recipe.
According to the Yamaha Paint Sequence Chart for 1975 models it's:
PAINT STEP PAINT PART #First coat: White Pearl B/C PNT-65000-01-46
Second coat: N/A
Final coat: Clear PNT-65000-04-00
Note: In Yamaha documentation, paint code 0046 is associated with both Clean White and Pearl White

I've always used https://www.colorrite.com/ (https://www.colorrite.com/). Never had a problem with their paint quality of colors.

Just had my 1970 R5 purple, color matched, and in a spray can. They did a great job !
