Title: New Helmet
Post by: AAAltered on May 06, 2022, 07:21:23 PM
I hated my current helmet that I had to buy in the pandemic - no hands on browsing but I had to replace my worn out Shoei RF1100.

I sprang for the current Shoei RF1400 today.  I tried a bunch of helmets at a Cycle Gear, limiting my upper spending limit to 550ish.  There were plenty of helmets that were higher cost, which I ignored and tons of low cost options.  None of the lower cost helmets, Simpson, Bell, HJC, Sidici, Bilt etc were as comfortable so I swallowed and bought.

Bonus is the color is a fair match to my new Guzzi and my French Blue RD200...

Nice! A helmet on the seat will end up on the ground (experience)................D

Congrats on the new noggin-protector!
I really like my RF-1200 and have been mulling over the possibility of getting a RF-1400 as well

I like both Shoei and Arai helmets.  They fit well and have great quality.

How does it feel compared to your old lid? Interested as I have an RF-1200 and thinking about the RF-1400 but I heard fit/sizing might be different.

I got one in grey last year, it needed a bit of break in in the cheek pads to accommodate my big jaw, I really like it now.

A bit tight going over the ears, cheeks are snug but like Alain said it will break in....Otherwise it feels very comfortable in a static setting (my living room)
