Hey all, what is the proper way to adjust a rd350 oil pump ? Mine seems to be over active.

Set minimum stroke with shims and set pulley to correct mark, via the cable.

You'll see a triangle mark on the pulley of the oil pump. That should line up with the roll pin on the body of the oil pump.

The minimum stroke Arrow referenced is set by using the priming wheel on the side of the pump to open the gap at rest until it hits the highest point. Then that gap is measured with a feeler gauge to determine the pump minimum stroke.

Stacy, you can find oil pump info including the marks mentioned by Striker and the pump stroke clearance mentioned by Arrow, in The Tech Library section under "Yamaha Autolube Oil Pump"

Also, here are some manual pages to assist you.

First post after a long time away and a little off topic, but I had the stock roll pin fall out on a ride with predictable results, a hard seizure.  I replaced it with a new longer one and it's easy to measure occasionally to make sure it stays put.
