Haven't seen one of these for sale in a while. Pretty unique and rare bike. 250cc V3 triple with inboard disc.
Really clean bike!

Wow, I've never seen one of those. For a mfgr. that publicly put down development of two stroke streetbikes for the masses it's made even more rare and interesting that they made it.

Oh and that front "inboard disk" wheel setup looks very cool...but I just can't believe it. Whats the point?...did I read that correctly?...looks like a stylish drum brake.

So very 80's, and just a year before the RZ came out.

Classic case of "tying too hard" on Honda's part.  The brakes, the Comstar style multi-piece wheels, the V3 engine layout, etc.  Surely wasn't an inexpensive bike to build, but then Yamaha comes along with the RZ, and the MVX dissappears into obscurity.

Lots of similar styling cues with the RZ, too, but somehow Honda got it so wrong, and Yamaha got it so right.

Have you ridden it? Such a hoot styling wise. I love it the more I look at it.

I wonder how much tech was developed from the V3 that went to the NS400?

It's back up for sale again after it didn't meet reserve a year ago on Iconic. This time on BaT.

Photos were taken on Grizzly Peak Blvd in Berkeley, CA. Overlooking the Cal Berkeley campus. 2nd to last pic is the corner where a friend of mine died on an RD 400 back in about 1983. Went off the road into those trees on the right. There were more trees then. It's one of the popular places in the East Bay hills for local boy racers and sports car people. Kind of like the Dragon but a faster road.
