The R-5 has finally made it on to the lift. Motor is ready to go, just need to go pick it up. Stay tuned :whoop:
Sweet!
yeah man! here we go!!! :cheerleader:
I caught him rubbing that bike with a soft cloth last time I was at his place; it was more than cleaning.
Brought the lump home today! Time for some detailing and then install. Yes, this is my dining room table! No, there isn't anyone to complain.
I support the proper use of a dining room table

fantastic. let's keep the good ones on the road.
that a vitos crank?
Yes. That one is stock dimensions with upgraded bearings. It has about 2000 fairly hard miles on it now with no problems. The engine I just did I used a Vito's crank also (still finishing up this project) however, they quit selling the one with the upgraded bearings. These crankshafts seem to have good reviews from the banshee guys. And hopefully you will reply back and say how great they are and no horror stories.
Ken, it appears to be the same dining room set!

I dont know where you got that from. Every Banshee group or site I have ever been on have all agreed that you need to stay as far away from anything Vitos as possible.
Places like Westcoast ATV or Driveline performance will sell you quality cranks with Koyo 8 ball bearings
I've heard the bad rumors.. but every rd I've seen with one has had zero issues. imho, I less its a full blown race bike I wouldn't sweat it.

Mine was out a bit on the big end width, but was within spec when it was last rebuilt (this coming in a phone call from Ed Toomey). No issues with the crank since rebuild either.
Might as well be comfortable while working ! Looks great !
Just about ready to fire up,just gotta decide what pipes to use!R%.jpg

looks good. i just put a set of 'daytona bend' bars on my 72 (looks like what you have) much more user friendly than the fz1 bars that were on it.
