I've never heard of this one, it screams '80's cruiser...almost. Looks like a neat little bike, not mine...

Edit...nevermind, the look of the motor had me thinking it was a 2 stroke, still kinda neat
i had one. same motor as a ysr50.
I of course stuffed a DT100 motor in mine, and actually cracked the piston in half. they are fun to go 40 mph on.

In fact, it is a 2-stroke.
These were a limited-edition one-year model that were given to dealers as a giveaway promotion. Most of the ones I've seen are black. I believe they only came in 2 color options.
Here's another one
1983 Yamaha RX50 Midnight Special - $850 (Ojai, CA)

Those were pretty common in South Africa back in the 80's. There was also a Suzuki that looks exactly the same
In fact, it is a 2-stroke. <snip> Midnight Special.

Well I'll be dipped... the motor/head had me thinking 2t, but then the exhaust had me thinking otherwise.
I was in 9th or 10th grade when the Midnight Special came out, I remember it well. I was getting Virago vibes from this one
it was done as a companion to the virago. kinda like the dt50 and the tdr of 89.
