Title: Forking question
Post by: soonerbillz on October 19, 2022, 04:01:16 PM
You have to say the thread title with a British accent.  :Clown:

But seriously,  will a 73 TX500 front end fit on a R5?
I have a opportunity to get a rolling TX500 frame with nice wheels and the complete front fork and disc.

If r5 is the same as rd, the TX forks should be 2" longer.

Edit: I might be wrong in that length.  I used new tubes for a XS on the TX lowers and they were about 2" longer than rd tubes.  I can't remember what the TX are.

There's post in the Tech Library under "Suspension - Wheels" about swapping TX forks onto an RD (which enables dual disk if desired), and parts interchange. :twocents:
