Re-doing the race bike at the moment and giving some thought to the bodywork. I was thinking that this dunstall upper fairing would look all wrong with the TD2 bodywork (TZ-style tank), but the initial mockup actually looks.... pretty awesome to me. What does the hive mind think?
I dig it! It gives it a good low lean look
Once you get a windscreen on it, that'll be perfect. I love the vintage road race look! Nothing better!

It's a dedicated race bike so might as well make it look like one!

I need a screen for my Dunstall 1/4 fairing. I was looking at Gustaffson. Maybe I'm just that cheap, but $200 for a windscreen seems steep. I may call AirTech and see if they'll just sell me a windscreen that's normally included in their Dunstall kit.
rlloydm, what are you doing as far as mounting brackets for the side panels or are you leaving it just as it is in the pictures?
I bought this + a Mead Speed windscreen from a fellow racer for $325, which seemed like a pretty sweet deal vs. glass from the past + gustaffson.
I haven't mounted this at all currently. It's just sitting there so I could eyeball it. I'm thinking I'll make a hollow tube on the lathe to weld to the headstock of the frame and thread a grub screw into the end. I'll fab up an aluminum fairing stay that slides into that. For mounting the upper corners I'm going to stick a heim joint to the crown nut on the top triple and run a rod through it and yes, I'll weld some tabs onto the frame to mount the lower wings.
Happy to post more pictures as things progress if y'all are interested.
