Im not sure exactly what the story behind this is. its well done. but no title, mismatched paint and rz pipes? its pretty so will probably pull the 4-4500, but the title and bitsa nature of this bike will probably keep some educated buyers away to a degree. id think hes about 800-1k too high

Clean title would fetch 4500 in my neck of the woods all day!
Honestly I've looked at this bike half a dozen times since it was posted on here. I think the R5's and especially this color scheme have just the minutest edge over the RD's visually. Such a sweet looking bike. I wish I lived closer, I imagine it would be mine. Just outta curiosity what's the difference in power delivery with a r5 vs. rd350?
i agree, they do look better.. i have 3 piston port twins of this ilk in relatively stock paint (2 are dead stock) and 2 rds completely modified.
IMHO, the only ones that can hold a candle to them are the 75 250b, the 73 RD350, and the geneva green 400. thats just MY preference
I mean, its not a bad bike. I cant figure out the premix thing or why only 1 cover wasn't painted to match :umm:. going to be impossible to get it matched later IMHO.
Oh yeah for sure paint is hard to match. One of these R5's in the same color scheme is for sale on FB marketplace, more local to me at present time. However it's got the dreaded DG pipes and with the cafe bars and a different seat. The asking price is less though, I think it may even be a pretty good deal. I'll add the link here but being less than computer savvy it is a bit long and not sure how to abbreviate it.

EDIT: shortened link
Those "cafe bars" are clubmans. Pretty popular back in the 80s
It's an easy fix to change them out
id be way more inclined to get that 72 you linked rather than the original one at top of post.
dgs are 'ok', the rfy shocks are meh and bars are easy to change.
keep in mind, the 1st bike has what appears to be dg RZ pipes. Im not even sure how they work on an rd motor.
Yeah that one is pretty hard to beat but I just found this on Ebay and wow quite a nice mostly original r5. Gotta kinda cool exhaust I've never seen...what is it? and the stock pipes which look in very good shape also come with it.
