I'm probably going to be selling off some parts and wonder who you folks use for the best rates. I may sell through ebay, though I'm not quite sure yet.
Thanks,
Roger
For CONUS, I use USPS. Depending on weight and shape, quite often a flat-rate box.
When I was selling parts I used UPS ground for most of my sales.
Since the buyer is paying for shipping, ask them... as they will know who services their area.
Can't beat the post office in North America, use DHL for most of the rest of the world.
Australia and Hawaii are black holes for shipping.
Best rates (domestic) = USPS.
Priority, Med flat rate box: $17.05 & Large flat rate box: $22.45
Depending on what you're shipping you may be able to save by using your own packaging and paying the weight rate.
If less than a pound you can ship First Class (<4lbs for Intl)
However service is "iffy", especially over the last year or two. Just had to deal with a Priority item that went missing in Atlanta before arriving at it final destination. Fortunately the insurance covered the loss but what a HUGE PITA! First you have file a missing package search, and then wait the designated amount of days, and then you can file a claim. After they process it and determine the status of claim they issue you a check. Took about a month from date a mailing until a refund check arrived.
UPS = "United Parcel Smashers".
I can look at a package and just by the appearance tell which shipper delivered it.
Thanks everyone, I appreciate the feedback.
Worst is FedEx. Then USPS.
UPS for me if possible. Never a real issue.
I've had good luck with USPS. Just sent a Package from Northwest Washington to S.C. $17.00, three days.
