Title: US Model RZ350 Windscreens
Post by: kpke on February 21, 2023, 02:59:52 PM
I had rather devastating accident while putting the finishing restoration touches using my buffer on what was going to be a beautiful (unobtanium) original 1984 RZ350 windscreen. It's no longer in one piece.  :bang:

I am looking for some feedback on purchasing and fitment of replacement windscreens on #2, 3, 4, and 5 below. Do they fit? Does the rubber trim fit on them? Anything else?

1. A long shot for sure but does anybody have a decent one for sale?

2. Zero Gravity Windscreen  Economy Cycle sells this. This would be about $130 shipped.

3. The China ones on eBay. This would be about $40 shipped but more than likely crap.

4. Norbo sells them. As anybody tried his product?

5. This seller on eBay says   BEWARE OF CHEAP CRAPPY SCREENS MADE IN CHINA. THEY JUST DON'T FIT RIGHT!  I just contacted him through eBay asking him where they are manufactured. This would be about $120 shipped. Sorry for the long link if it doesn't shorten up.

Ken, the screen in #5 says it's US made. I've bought a few things over the years from that seller and have had good experiences. Can't really comment on RZ350 parts though.
Bummer about your original screen.

Shortened the link for you too :hifive:

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the replies.

I just received a reply from #5. (Thanks SoCal250 for the input on this dude)

"Hi,
It's made in WA.  Never had a return request in more than 10 years.  It will fit.  They are not perfect, but nothing that's handmade really is."

Evans, did you put the rubber trim around the zero gravity windscreen?

Tim, I used more words than Damn after this happened. Made up some new curse words too. This was my last round of polishing after doing one more touch up. Should have left it alone but hindsight, eh?

Yes, Ken I did secure the factory rubber trim piece around the ZG screen and the factory bikini fairing too. No fitment issues at all.

Thanks 2 Smoker. That's the same eBay seller as my #5. I was very tempted to buy one of those and still may.

I have purchased a Zero Gravity light smoke windscreen from Economy Cycle.
