Title: Yamaha Engine-Frame numbers YR2
Post by: Zonda on May 16, 2019, 08:18:17 AM
Gents, I am sure my bike is a YR2 and did find the info somewhere on the web, but I'm having trouble re-finding it. Is that information amongst the lost info from the old forum or is it still around?

Cheers Rod

The bike is R1-8787.

If this reference is correct, your bike shows to be a 1967 YR1.  The  YR2 serials appear to be in the range R1-7100--12005, R1-00121--0076

I've looked at that reference and it's a little confusing as it lists the YR1 as being R1-00164-12021 and the YR2, R1-7100-12005 (and R1-00121-0076) so in theory my bike R1-8787 can be both :umm:

Well I've worked it out...it's a 1968 YR (2), I was confused with the numbers as I've not had much to do with early Yamaha's, I was under the assumption that they were different model's, now I realise that it's just the year and for part number changes etc!

Cheers
