Interesting tech tip on coil power loss and a fix for it.
This may be old news for some.
The site it comes from is a good resource.

tried and true method. :toot:
This is why I love this forum, I'm having this exact problem, low voltage to coils weak intermittent spark. I hot wired a coil just to test and got a very acceptable spark. Cheers
As the wiring and connectors age resistance increases in the circuit. Battery voltage can be present at coils, however the current may be less than needed for the coils to deliver proper spark. The repowering of the coils in the wired George method provides the needed current. Used this on a kz1100 that was hard starting, afterwards starts right up.
Can or should I do this to a vape equipped system?
Unless I am confusing something in my head, the vape is basically a magneto ignition and the battery is not needed for spark. I have the vape on my RD and mine will run without battery.
exactly. ^ use a relay to operate the ground that kills the coil, if anything.
