Title: 1975 dt250 carb identification help.
Post by: e30 gangsta on October 11, 2023, 02:25:32 PM
Hello fellow 2t nerds. I need a little bit of help identifying the carb that is on this motorcycle. I ordered a carb kit for it based off the year/model bike and it does not at all fit the carb that is currently on the bike. Attached are the pictures of the carb. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

I believe the YZ80G carb is a VM26SS

The DT250B mentioned in the subject should have a 28mm Mikuni. Here are the specs for a few years:

DT250A
Carb: Mikuni VM28SS, ID # 438-61

DT250B/C
Carb: Mikuni VM28SS, ID # 498-61

DT250D
Carb: Mikuni VM28SC, ID # 1M1-00

Thanks for your help y'all. Seems like this carb is completely wrong for this bike. Time to find a spare one or go aftermarket. Thanks for the prompt replies.
