Title: Not "mechanical" but ... best way to remove/paint side covers?
Post by: RD4140 on November 29, 2023, 08:43:12 PM
Hey, I have two RD side covers (well, ones the oil tank). They're both different colors and I want to prep and paint them.

They're in good condition, don't need to bog them or anything. Just remove paint and/or prime and repaint.

Anyone got any tips for the best way to do this? I've never dealt with plastic before.

Thanks.

Wet sand.

if they are caked with spray paint, you can soak them with laquer thinner and wipe a lot of it off. note: not laquer thinner with acetone, this will melt them, just old school laquer thinner.
