Title: RD400 shift shaft modification
Post by: msr on April 22, 2024, 02:45:49 PM
The left side cover of my RD400 where the shift shaft comes through had worn into an oval allowing far too much play in the shifter. Yesterday, m in sc and I (okay mostly him) used his mill at work to open that hole up and sleeve it. A tack weld to keep it in place and some paint and it looks like it was manufactured this way.

Good, simple design to solve a frustrating problem. Thanks Mark!

YES, after the bushing was pressed in it was drilled and deburred.  :toot:
