I finally made it out to the Donut Derelicts weekly Saturday meet in Huntington Beach. I don't normally go because it's so early in the morning. They start rolling in a little after 5:00am to get parking spots and it's over by 9:00am.
I didn't really decide to commit to going until late on Friday night, so I went bed around 12:30am and was up at 5:00. Ugh. Did a quick wipe down on the trusty old 125 and took off for the show. I was there to grab a parking spot at 5:45.
Parked right in front with the other bikes and then went inside to get some delicious donuts and a big coffee. :homer: (I really needed the coffee!)

I was parked next to this nice Guzzi

A group of 5 guys rode into together on Whizzers.

And I ran into my friend Bill with the RD125 that I had spotted last weekend in Seal Beach.

This really nice restored MT250 parked right behind me.

I met the owner of this '35 truck when I was out on my neighborhood walk about a year ago and he was working on it in his driveway. It's a Factory Five kit that he built in his garage. He decided to paint it the same color as his E46 M3 because he likes the color so much.

This Holden LX Torana SS rolled in late. Right hand drive and it sounded pretty mean. I dig it.

Wonderful pics and event. Seems quite worth the early rising. Thanks for posting.

The Vega wagon reminds me of a neighborhood friend's car from the 1970s. He just showed up 1 day with a 74 Vega wagon with a HiPo 327 shoved in it. Custom Headers exited through the front wheel wells and it had an engine compartment crossbar added for rigidity. That bar didn't really help as when he stomped on it you could feel the motor roll to the side a little and shook the whole front of the car! I rode in it only once and it scared the shit out of me. Surprised it never killed him.

That Holden body shape looks to be derived from a Vega. I always wanted a Cosworth Vega back in the day but it would have been a never-ending series of engine failures from what I remember reading at the time. IIRC it had Aluminum block that turned out to be better in theory than application for production cars?

A friend of mine had a Cosworth Vega in high school. Pretty rare car for a 17-year-old to be ripping around So Cal in.
Wish there were cool shows like that somewhere remotely close to me... only bike shows in my area are push rod related
This event takes place every Saturday morning, and has been going on for almost 40 years. It started with just a small group of friends meeting in a parking lot. https://www.donutderelicts.com/
Some pretty wild stuff shows up there and the lot gets packed.
