Title: 73 RD350 running lights
Post by: Vintagewannabe on May 22, 2024, 07:40:02 PM
Hello, I'm having trouble with a newly aquired RD. So to my understanding, headlight and tail light will only come on once the bike is running. Well I got the bike running and still not lights. If I hit the brakes the brake light will come on, and I have my neutral light.
I checked and I am not getting power to the headlight with the bike running.
Is there a way to bypass the relay? Or am I missing something?

what key position are you running it in? all the way left is off, 1 is run/lights, 2 is park. (on older ones).

lights in an air-cooled should come on w key. does it have an aftermarket cdi or is it stock? need details.  did you try hi low beam? is the headlight switch ON?  (yes it can be turned off)

God I feel like an idiot. Didn't even think of the little switch on the right hand controls working the lights.

dont.. it happens. i know a guy w a norton commando that bought a whole wiring harness, carbs, and all sorts of shit because he had the kill switch in the wrong position. it worked, he just didn't know how to use it. I shit you not, it took him 2 years to figure it out. actually, he didn't.. another guy did.
