Anyone know anything about this vehicle? I would think it would take a really hot modified mill to move it quickly due to the power to weight ratio?
That's a Berkeley. My Dad had one of these back in the 1970's in Ireland and used it as his daily driver. It had the original 2-stroke twin Excelsior 350cc motor running on premix. Three speed gearbox. Fiberglass body so the car is incredibly light. Would not break any land speed or acceleration records but I can remember it getting up to about 60mph when he would take me to school in it! Incredibly fun car, I wish we'd kept it. I believe there was also a version with a 750cc triple motor (also Excelsior).

Interesting! Have heard of a Berkeley but know nothing about them. I'll have to read up on them and thanks for finding and adding the link! Bet it was fun growing up riding in one of those!
There was a Berkeley that used to show up at the annual 2-Stroke Extravaganza. It was red IIRC. I have photos of it somewhere.
I did some reading and viewing... made in the UK and a microcar weighing only 680 lbs!! Very tiny too..
Yep they're small

Our family has fond memories of this little beast. We nicknamed it the "Berkeley Banger" due to the morning start-up and smoke screen as Dad let it rip down our street. As you can imagine the neighbors were not as amused as we were.
A staggering 18 bhp originally. The RD engine is nearly triple the power.
Should do at least 80mph now. Love it!

The exhausts on that thing dont look like they will do much to make any kind of power.
Cool little car though.
