Title: Memorabilia score
Post by: SoCal250 on July 19, 2024, 02:10:02 PM
Last weekend at Laguna I was able to get a few autographs on a Yamaha flag that normally hangs above my workbench. Might have to find a new location for it now since it's probably too valuable (to me) to hang in the garage.

Pretty cool to meet all these legends in one place: (left to right)
Eddie Lawson
Wayne Rainey
Doug Chandler
Ben Spies
John Kocinski
Thomas Stevens
In all the excitement I somehow missed getting Miguel Duhamel to sign it while I was talking to him. Really disappointing.

I also had these guys sign my paddock pass:
Ricky Johnson (he loved my RD125 that I was riding up there) :olaf:
Scott Parker
Bubba Shobert

And in the paddock I met quite a few big names and got photos with a couple:
Eraldo Ferracci
Paolo Ciabatti
J.D. Beach
Max Flinders
Kayla Yaakov
Cory Alexander

Really cool that you can still rub shoulders with all of those and especially get sigs.
Kayla must have a dad that is just delighted with his daughter and meeting her must have been an encouragement.

Meeting Kayla was great. She was so excited and happy to meet fans, talk and sign autographs, and you could tell she was deeply appreciative. For her, fame is still new so she seemed to almost be surprised by all the attention and even a little giddy. Hopefully she retains that humble attitude as her career matures.

I was thinking about Duhamel recently as I thought he fell off the face of the Earth and then he magically appears! I enjoyed watching him back in the day. Kayla is certainly talented running up front with these guys! Russ, that flag is awesome! It was great running into you at the Corkscrew Russ! I also ran into a few other friends that I have met over the years at the 2 Stroke Extravaganza.
