Title: MB5 gets new brakes
Post by: SoCal250 on August 14, 2024, 12:28:15 PM
Replaced the front brake pads on the little ripper MB5. (EBC SFA54HH sintered HH series) Hopefully they improve the stopping power which has been a little lackluster since I bought it. The old pads look as if they may be original (Nissin brand), and might have been contaminated with oil or brake fluid.

Between that bike and Russ, the whole thing can't weigh more than 200 lbs.
Brakes only slow you down. On the MB5 momentum is your friend.
 Cheers, Jeff

I ended up rebuilding pretty much all of the front brake components on my AR80 last summer. It made a huge difference. Those little bikes are a ridiculous amount of fun!

I had rebuild the front caliper a year ago but reused the original pads since it only had 2500 miles on it.

Only the front master has not been rebuilt, but it's working fine so far. I have the parts to do it someday.
