Title: Cars, Bikes & Coffee - Honda HQ, Torrance, CA
Post by: SoCal250 on October 20, 2024, 11:21:47 PM
Met up with Jeff (so-cal-sdr200) on Saturday morning and winded our way through south bay LA traffic to the American Honda headquarters for their "Cars, Bikes & Coffee" event, which happens every other month. It's a "Cars & Coffee" type event at the company campus and they open the collection hall museum to the public. I had been wanting to see what they had inside for years!

We were both representing on vintage 80s Honda classics and looking forward to the event. Jeff had his XL350R-SM out, and I trucked my little MB5 up to the LA area for the day. 36 miles on the old Japanese smoker, and got to hang out with my good friend. It was a really fun day!

I was a little disappointed by the meet and the museum after hearing so much about it. I thought there would be more classic cars, hot rods, and supercars but not many showed up, There were a lot of older Hondas, but mostly just ordinary 80s/90s/00s cars. The bike section was super weak.

The Collection has a few pretty cool prototypes

This engine was so tiny. I wish I had put something in the shot for perspective. It was small! (like hand sized!)

They even had a MB5 on display! Although mine is faster because it's red!  :vroom: :celebrate:

Similar to my very first ride. I had an Express-II in the 1980s which looked a lot like this, but had the fuel tank under the seat instead of in the rear rack.
