Title: Honda VTR1000
Post by: RustyRD on November 02, 2024, 07:32:41 AM
While I am waiting on a seat to arrive I decided to pull one out of mothballs. I got the bike from a local shop were the owners were retiring and liquidating inventory. Must of been someone's street fighter project and gave up on it. I have it running and still need to address charging issue, however its another TWIN. Not sure if I want to obtain all the body work and factory gauges, so looking for some ideas that you guys may have. I do have the tail section of the body work did not have on while taking pics.

IMHO i think it needs bodywork. quick google search shows full bodysets under 1k.

I had looked at air tech streamlining and they had a RC51 one piece fairing at a resonable price but not sure if it is still available with the changes that have happened lately. I know the ABS multi piece units are available, and woodcraft racing has a fairing also. I would have to find all the misc small parts for factory style fairing. gotta start somewhere.

I have ridden a couple of those, and they are so much fun! I like the RC51 look.

Track bike perhaps? You could probably pick up a used set of track fairings on one of the race/track forums. Would likely be less costly than street fairings.
