Is that even possible and be reasonable? What carrier and can you just attach a label to the bare frame?
ive done it with USPS, has been years buy i wrapped it up with plastic (the shipping stuff) and threw a label on it.
some MX people used to recommend Greyhound bus bulk shipping where you do the shrink wrap + label deal. It travels in luggage section under the bus terminal to terminal. Never tried it myself, but might be worth looking into.
I've used FedEx and UPS a couple times using shrink-wrap over cardboard. A wardrobe box cut to size works too, but dimensional charges are substantial.
I just shipped a transaxle for $100 via UPS. As long as it doesn't qualify as freight (105" and/or 150lbs) and can fit in a card board box you can ship it fairly reasonably. The transaxle was insured for $3500 too. I shipped that in a hard case but it will all come back once rebuilt.

I restored a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner that I got a bunch of grille and trim parts shipped via Greyhound because of their length. IMO, I would only use Greyhound for very large, but not heavy stuff. It takes longer and you have to go to a station during certain hours to get it. The price is decent compared to freight, but not necessarily cheaper than boxing it.
I have bought titled frames from Ebay and they were just bubble wrapped, shrink wrapped and shipped in a box.
Last I checked Greyhound doesn't offer it anymore.
I purchased a r5 frame on eBay, it came shrink wrapped and placed in a box. shipping by UPS was 112.00$, do not recall where from
I purchase shipping two ways, but the most accessible option is Pirateship.com.
Make an account and check rates. Their rates blow me away sometimes.
