Title: Left exhaust excessive smoke RD350
Post by: RD350NL on April 04, 2025, 05:14:15 PM
Hi all

Just have my rd350 running and I encounter the following issue:

Left exhaust is smoking much more than the right one, also when hot

Left spark plug is very dark also. Right spark plug has a nice brown colour.

Looks like the oil pump is distributing oil unevenly. Does anyone has experience or tips with this issue?

Its the left exhaust when you sit on the bike so I dont expect an oil seal, gearbox oil is also not dropping, plus the amount of smoke is not extreme, just a lot more than right.

Bone stock 73 rd350.
140 main
Clip 4
Pilot 25
Air screw 1.75

Runs like a dream!

Thanks for your help already

no. fairly impossible to do that since they feed from the same chamber. you can swap the lines at the pump to verify. my guess is carb related

Thanks for that insight. What could cause it from the carb?

if the jet tube is clogged, etc.

Synched the carbs and replaced the oil lines as they were hardened.
