New owner, first time deep into any carbs. A dangerous combination. I had a leak, looked like a float valve issue. And I have JL pipes coming someday. So took apart the bad carb to fix, and to do Dave F, using the kit from Economy Cycle.
My carbs are black, and 28 mm. I don't see any useful information on them beyond "MIC".
My first needle jet is the "bleed type", the EC kit comes with "primary type". And my Jet Needle seems to be marked as 512.
What do I do now? I don't suppose the parts are interchangeable.
As for jetting plans, all stock except the "street race" JL pipes with silencers, and some kind of air filter, maybe K&N. Jetting numbers are appreciated.
OE Yamaha Mikuni carbs on the RD350 are black and 28mm. They should be marked with a 360-00 (360-01) or 360-02 depending if they are low-top or high-top type. Your '75 would have high-tops. The RD350 uses 175 Series (bleed type) needle jets with 514 needles. The Dave F Mod replaces those with 169 Series (primary type) needle jets and 5DP7 needles.
Photos of your carbs would be helpful buy it sounds like you have stock carbs.
SoCal - that is 100% helpful. Thank you for getting me back on track.
Off topic - why did you sell that Aprillia? It is on my list....

Because I live in an ass-clown state that doesn't allow it to be titled. It was too impractical to keep as it was just living room decoration and an occasional bike show participant.
The previous owner had it street plated in another state, and the guy I sold it to in WA also got it plated after taking delivery from me.
Interesting, as I am an escapee from CA, now in WA. And WA wants to be CA....
