The Yamaha Racing Heritage Club (YRHC) brought the past roaring back to life at the 2025 ADAC Sachsenring Classic, celebrating 70 years since the founding of Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. With over 80 historic two-stroke race bikes, the dedicated YRHC paddock featured a remarkable mix of production and factory Grand Prix machinery. Among the highlights were early production racers such as the TD-1B, TR-2, and TR-3, displayed alongside factory-built icons from across the years, including numerous YZR250, YZR500, and YZR750 race bikes. Many of these machines were fired up and ridden in dedicated track sessions throughout the weekend by the YRHC members who have worked tirelessly to preserve and maintain them.
Yamaha legends Steve Baker and Carlos Checa, plus the son of Phil Read, Graham Read, and a passionate group of YRHC members, took to the track, reviving the sights, sounds, and stories that helped define Yamaha's legacy in global motorsport. From emotional tributes to unforgettable on-track action, this is where Yamaha racing history truly came alive
