Title: RD400F Brake Pads
Post by: SDDaytona on July 05, 2025, 04:35:11 PM
I thought my brake pads were showing unusual wear so I ordered a new set. Turns out that's just the way they are. Never seen pads like these before.. any idea on the rational?

The pads are manufactured with opposing vertical tapers of the friction material due to the mechanical action of the caliper under braking. The caliper "swings" side-to-side on single mounting pivot bolt. Because the RD400F uses shitty single-piston calipers, one pad moves with the cylinder and the other pad is fixed.
