Title: Getting Back In - RD500 Carb Sync
Post by: Milan on September 11, 2025, 03:00:50 PM
Getting started again on all my bikes.
Those hurricanes last year had me moving them all over, as well as damaged stuff.

I got my V45 Sabre out & cleaned the carbs.
Used the Digi-Sync to calibrate them. Worked great

I have my RD500 carbs off for cleaning, but I did not see any connection ports for the Digi Sync.
Maybe there are none & this wont work on this bike.

Popsicle stick method then?

I've done the popsicle method, but also have done the vaccum method with a guage. Maybe you can put a brass barb in the intake to sync. Then cover it afterwards.

After doing mechanical synch I use a vacuum tool. It has made a huge difference on mine. Look this up on amazon Universal Pro-Sync Carburetor Synchronizer Tool

Extremely helpful when I was syncing my kz650. Of course they had vacuum ports in the intake
