Title: All Balls Steering Needle Bearings
Post by: 2 Smoker on February 02, 2026, 06:57:17 PM
I installed the upper and lower sets and was unable to reach the stem threads with the ring nut due to the protrusion of the bearings from frame neck not seating in properly. Have I missed something here :umm:

I am going with the sealed ball bearing setup from Economy Cycle instead of the all balls needle set up.

Since you've already got the tapered bearing races installed, why not run the tapered on the bottom and the caged type on the top? The lower is the one that carries the load and that's where tapered bearings perform better. :twocents:

Unfortunately while tapping them out the needle bearings were kinda not going to function as designed and they were tossed into the garbage can.
